anyone that follows my tumblr knows that kendall is my favorite member of BTR!!! <3
in the big time rush tv show, he is the leader of the band and the most level-headed and the nicest guy, too! i'd like to think kendall is pretty much the leader of the band in real-life too. xD he may not be the best singer in the group (carlos!) or the most handsome (james!), but i really love his voice and he just seems like a really cute, nice guy. ~__~
i thought kendall had the best outfits at the concert!! and i noticed how he often is the only one who has some fabric or something hanging from the side of this pants...it makes the outfit cooler! hehe. (you probably can't tell, but in the picture on the far right above, there were some fabric flaps on the back of his black pants! xD)
he didn't wear this outfit at the concert i was at, but i really like his outfit here! ^^
you can't see it very well here, but he has some white fabric hanging from the side of his pants...i just love outfits like that, where there's some flowy fabric or strings/etc. on the side of the pants that moves around when they dance. (pretty sure i said something like this about toma's outfit when he and yamapi sang yokubou no rain together in 2009. xD)

i'm in a pic with BTR!! lol....i'm somewhere way in the back. i'll check at their website later for a clearer version. they do this at all their concerts! hehe. they asked if they could take a picture with us and asked everyone to raise their hands. =)

IT WAS REALLY FUN!!! I SANG ALONG AND JUMPED AROUND AND GOT HYPER AND EVERYTHING ALONG WITH THOUSANDS OF OTHER GIRLS THERE. =D i loved that it was an outdoors concert too. we were up high and it was a cool, starry night. *_* for me, outdoors concerts definitely beats indoors concerts!! i think this will be the highlight of my year!!!! can't imagine i'd be able to do anything more awesome this year....
i will also not be anywhere this LOUD anytime soon!! xD
i had to cover my ears a lot when the screaming started. lol. i have really sensitive hearing in fact, and usually avoid noisy places. if you've ever been to a concert with tons of screaming fangirls, you'll know what i mean.....wow, they can get extremely~, insanely~ LOUD!!!
so here's my recap...
i went to big time rush's concert on july 19 with my sister (big logan fan xD)!! it was AWESOME!!!! (except for way too long 1 hr and a half of
it's been a longgggg time since i have been to a concert, too. so i was excited about this one!! and it's the 1st time i'm going to a concert for an american boy band, so i wasn't sure what to expect (except for the things i've seen about their concerts at tumblr xD)... i've only been to hacken/alan (HK singers) concerts in las vegas before and of course their concert is completely different from a BTR concert.
1st time seeing the amphitheater in person, from the parking lot as we're waiting in line to go in...that lawn is steep!!! for around $20, people can sit on the lawn and watch the concert. much cheaper than tickets for actual seats in the amphitheater, but we got seats cuz we heard about how steep and too crowded the lawn usually is... (i zoomed in...it was pretty far away!)
the sign after we got in: WELCOME TO BIG TIME RUSH. that doesn't...sound right?? haha.
concessions area....food, lots of beer, and BTR merchandise (i didn't buy anything. everything was expensive! >.<)... we ate some pizza and saw kendall's brother taking pictures with some fans there! i feel kinda bad that i didn't even know who he was until someone said that's kendall's brother. lol. cuz he barely looks like kendall! kendall looks better. xD
the path up to the Terrace section was VERY STEEP!! it somehow doesn't look that steep here, but it was!! whew...it was a pretty hot day too. luckily there are a lot of tall trees everywhere there, so when we were standing in line, at the concessions, or walking up to the amphitheater, there were plenty of shade!! ^_^
do you notice a lot of kids in this pic? xD it's cuz there were a lotttt of kids (and their parents) at this concert. maybe it was half little kids and half teenage girls. cuz BTR's tv show is on nickelodeon and i think their target audience is girls from 8-18 or something like that. xDDDD (and the BTR guys themselves are all only 21 or 22 yrs old...) i guess it's a little embarrassing to be fans of a boy band whose target audience is the same age as justin bieber's fans, but oh well. xD
we reached our seats! ^^ this amphitheater is pretty nice!! (do you see the mountains in the distance? i love being up so high!!) i was worried before the concert cuz i heard bad things about it on Yelp (reviews), but there were plenty of clean restrooms and the walk to concessions from the parking lot wasn't super far and the way it was built, we didn't have to sit in the sun. awesome!! ~_~ i didn't even need my sunglasses anymore, but i kept it on cuz i bought them recently for this concert and i look better (cooler!) with them on. lol.

there were plenty of people wearing BTR shirts like these girls in the yellow shirts. xD some kids on the lawn were rolling down it, for fun! they weren't going fast so it wasn't dangerous, but it was funny, cuz that's how steep the lawn is!!
the 2nd opening act. a boy band called New Hollow that i didn't know anything about. they were ok, but i hated when they kept saying things to get the audience to scream. person with sensitive hearing here!! >.< well, at least we had plenty of time to take pictures while the opening acts were going on....
this is the way back to my seat from the restroom...this side of the lawn, there wasn't much people, but on the other side, it was almost all full!!
it started to get dark after New Hollow left and they started counting down until BTR will come out on the screen. there were 19 minutes left but in this pic, it was 15 minutes left, i guess. it was 8:17pm when i took this picture. i thought the concert would start at 7:30pm (i looked up online that opening acts are usually 30 minutes long) but it would start 1 hr later than that. >__< no wonder the seats didn't fill up till in the middle of New Hollow's performance. if i had know, i would have spent more time in the concessions area and try to find something not too pricey in the BTR merchandise booths!! argghhh...
the view from our seat was pretty nice! ~__~ it got a lot cooler after the sun went down too. almost time for BTR!! almost time to see kendall!!!! <3

they sang Elevate and had sunglasses on and looked really cool, but i was trying so hard to get a clear picture of them on the screen that i wasn't paying much attention to the stage. kept looking in my camera. >_< i thought to myself that i should not try to take too many pictures and just enjoy the concert, since most of my pictures will turn out blurry anyway. but in the end i still took around 400 pics!! lol. 90% of them were blurry, but oh well. xD
the really bright moments were cool...*__*
this song was Time of our life. it was ok...actually they sang a lot more songs from their new CD (which i didn't buy until after this concert. lol.) than i thought they would. i liked the songs on their 1st CD more, but they did a great job of singing these new songs. I LOVE THE COOL BACKGROUND GRAPHICS AND RANDOM STREAMERS OR SMOKE SHOOTING OUT...xD
and i'm not sure, but i think they sang everything live and nothing was lip synced. cuz even for the fast songs where they dance a lot, there are some slower parts, where i could hear them taking their breaths while singing. i've seen their live performances at various places on youtube and they're pretty good! luckily they're not really bad at singing live (avril...!). and their dancing is pretty good too!
oh...sometime later in the concert they thanked their band for doing a great job on this tour...did they say the BTR backstage band or something??? i forgot...cuz u never really see them, except that 1 time when they introduced those few guys to us...the rest of the time it's just kendall, james, logan, and carlos on stage. (yeah, they don't have any backup dancers. but i like it like this. they don't really need any backup dancers! xD)
a lot of fans brought signs with them. ^^ some girls around us had signs too. hehe.
colorful glowsticks!! i didn't buy any, but they were selling cotton candy that was wrapped around a blinking glowstick. i thought that was an awesome idea! xD they were selling lemonade too (Minute Maid was 1 of the sponsors)...thinking about it makes me want some lemonade. xD
forgot which song this was, but they turned off the screens for this so couldn't see their faces. =/ but it was 1 of my favorite parts of the concert!! ^_^ it was nice to see them singing a slow song for a change and they sounded pretty good.... kendall got to sing first, too! what was cool was that they did this thing where they turned the spotlight on for the guy that was singing (off if he's not singing). so as they took turns singing or when their voices overlapped, the lighting changed accordingly...it just looked really cool to me....~__~
ohhhhh. i just remembered this was the song No Idea!! it's 1 of my favorite songs from their new CD, and you can see them singing it at a concert earlier this year, here. they did the same thing with the lights!! ~___~ and at the end you can see the band, they are actually right on top of the stage a little and i didn't even notice!!! ehhhhhh!! xDDD

pink/purple lighting... i don't like it when they have hats on, but i guess it's an easy way to change the outfit a little and cover up their messy hair after so much dancing. xD
they sang the beatles' I want to hold your hand, since they sang it in their movie (filmed in london) this year. ^_^ about his outfit, james was joking "i didn't think i was sweating enough, so i put on this winter coat." hahaha!! poor james, he was the most sweaty. 2nd was kendall. kendall had to get a towel and wipe his face 1 time while carlos was talking about the next song, i think! =P carlos did the most talking and he seems the most cheerful/natural, i think! no wonder he (and logan?) got the most screaming/cheering from fans!

what song was this...oh, it might have been Windows Down, which was 1 of the last songs. or was it THE last song?? i forgot already. xD colorful graphics in the background. hehe...
at the end of the last song, after thanking everyone and saying they love their fans, this was fun, etc., they literally bounced off the stage (into an opening in the stage) on a trampoline (they used it sometimes during the dances. xD)!! kendall, logan, james, and last was carlos, who stuck around a little and smiled at everyone before he jumped off.
some people started to leave, but a lot of people were chanting "big time rush" and soon the lights on the stage came on again and they came out for 1 more song. xD of course it was the song Big Time Rush!! and the graphics on the screen was flashing this really cool BIG TIME RUSH white text on a red background that kept breaking up and coming back together...it's hard 2 describe (but u can kinda get the idea from the pic above). xD then they all got on the platform and thanked everyone again (and i think said something like see you at the next concert or our next concert is in _________??).... a ton of red and white confetti was shooting out and there was bright red light and everything was RED!!! wow!! ...and the platform lowered and they soon disappeared beneath the stage.
AND THAT WAS IT!!! ^___^ I WANT TO GO TO THEIR CONCERT AGAIN NEXT YEAR!!!! XD
i kept some pieces of the confetti and noticed that my hearing was kind of muffled...haha. it was back to normal pretty quickly afterwards. whew.
on the way out there was a crowd of people in the concessions area screaming and it seemed like the BTR guys were inside this enclosed area taking pics with VIP people?? i wasn't sure what was going on but we couldn't see anything and it was already past 10pm, so we just left. on the way out, i thought of buying the concert program but it was $20!! oh well...i don't like them enough to buy not-that-great BTR merchandise. lol.
