book & movie (released march 29) recommendation: THE HOST♥ (by stephenie meyer)
so those of you who follow my tumblr (tomaroom) already know i'm obsessed with this movie right now (sorry spamming your dashboards!). lol. but i thought i should post about it here too, for those of you who don't know about it. THE MOVIE IS RELEASED ON MARCH 29 (only 1 more day!!) in the US. if you can, please go watch!! ^_^
YES, this book was written by stephenie meyer, the author of Twilight. but trust me, the story is much much better!! it's a sci-fi/romance and i really like the 2 love stories, but i also like the sci-fi aspect, that it's a totally different better world, and the aliens are actually nice, and a human (Ian) falls in love with an alien (Wanda), and how body and soul are 2 different things, and it just really makes you think about a lot of things...
i'm 2/3 of my way through the book, and i love it! i read more than i meant to, actually. because i don't want to know too much before watching the movie. actually, i already know the general outline of the whole book (wikipedia...). but it's still exciting to read the book and be in this strange new world, even though i know how it ends.

there are 2 couples in this movie. jared and melanie, and ian and wanda.
2 cute guys, but only 1 cute girl, because this is the future and melanie's (human girl) body has been taken over by the alien, Wanderer (later called wanda). but melanie is still there and wanda and her have conversations in their mind and melanie can hear and feel everything, but she cannot control her body (well, most of the time). it's not a love triangle, it's a love box, as jake (he plays Ian) says. xD so jared and ian are the two guys who will eventually fight over her, and these 2 guys are both handsome and great actors. max irons is jared (melanie's boyfriend who now doesn't trust her) and jake abel is ian. jake abel was dean and sam's brother in Supernatural years ago!! xD well, the main cast, max, jake, saoirse ronan (pronounced "ser-sha", she's melanie/wanda) are all great actors and down-to-earth (pun intended xD) people, and they all have a lot of chemistry and get along well and i think they'll really be able to do justice for the book!!

mostly everyone likes Ian more. me too!! if you read the book, you'll understand. he's the sweetest, nicest guy ever!!! he's tough and strong, but also open-minded, sensitive, and understanding. he fell in love with wanda despite of everything and he's always looking after her and he's just....so...you just want to hug him!!!♥ he is supposed to have black hair and piercing blue eyes, but 1 out of two isn't bad, jake. xD he is nice and gentle to wanda, kind of the complete opposite of jared, who is always so rough and passionate towards melanie.

in the book, jared is supposed to be more good-looking than ian, but really, both jake and max are equally hot, i think. xD and it's so cute how they are such good friends and playfully flirt with each other all the time.

also, this is weird, but this movie made me think of when i was little, for some reason on a dark and stormy night, i hid in the closet... and when my siblings found me, i told them that i am an alien that had taken over the body of their sister, and it really freaked them out. haha.... i was maybe only 5 years old or something. i must have got it from some alien movie, but sometimes my brother still jokes about me being an alien. he did it just yesterday! but from now, i'll take it as a compliment. xD
