well, i'm really late to the party because i'm sure most people became his fan after seeing him as loki in Thor in 2011.

i'm really not sure what to include in this post which is also partly why i keep delaying it. there's just TOO MUCH awesome pics, videos, gifs, articles!!! BUT SINCE I HAVE JOINED HIS ARMY, IT IS MY JOB TO SPREAD THE HIDDLESTON LOVE, SO I WILL TRY MY BEST TO MAKE THIS POST MAKE SENSE AND NOT GO ON FOREVER. xD

and this post is late because i officially became a hiddlestoner (A devotee of the cult of Hiddles – someone who worships the glory that is Tom Hiddleston.) on october 21. but there were always more great videos of him that i kept finding that i think i should include in this post and it just seems endless and i still have a bunch i haven't watched yet that i'll just have to watch gradually. lol.


i have so much love and respect for this brilliant man. since he loves shakespeare and poems, i feel like i should write something poetic about how much i love him. but i'm no good at writing poems, so i'm going to let one of our great modern poets, selena gomez, express how i feel about him. lol.

so, here's my very long path to becoming a fan...

like most of the world, i first knew of tom hiddleston's existence back in 2011, as Loki in the movie Thor. i'm not interested in action movies usually, but i thought it was pretty good and loki was a cool villain. thought he was a great actor. i thought he looked a lot like sheldon (jim parsons), which was distracting, though. OF COURSE NOW I REALIZE TOM IS FAR MORE BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING. I MEAN, HE IS LITERALLY A GOD IN THESE MOVIES.

i have no idea why i didn't notice how cute he was in this movie. especially when he's sad or feeling vulnerable. omg. just want to give him a hug.



fast forward to 2013. yeah, i didn't watch the Avengers for a whole year. i said i don't like action movies! lol. once again, loki is freaking awesome though he's certainly more evil and less conflicted and he actually kills people, not frost giants. yeah, he tries to destroy new york city and rule over planet earth. but once again, i missed my chance to join the fandom. i just forgot about him after the movie.

oh, before i forget. did you know he actually auditioned for the role of THOR?? he got all muscular for it until they later said nevermind, lose the muscles, you're loki. lol. I cannot imagine him as thor at all. who else could make loki so badass yet also with a sensitive, vulnerable side? BUT I SOMETIMES WONDER IF A LOT OF HIS FANS/people in general WILL ONLY EVER LIKE HIM AS LOKI AND NOT REALLY BE INTERESTED IN HIS OTHER ROLES. i hope not. he has so much more to offer. though loki probably will always be what he's known for.


so during the summer of 2013, he blew everyone's minds by appearing IN CHARACTER, as loki at comic-con. omg. i remember reading about this but i never watched the video. and i've always been vaguely aware that he is quite popular on tumblr. because for instance when i look for reaction gifs i often see his face show up. lol.

edit: oh... right!! the end of 2013 was Thor: The Dark World. i totally forgot about that. well, even though loki showed up more, i didn't like the story that much. i don't remember much about it except loki got to help thor and redeem himself but then he faked his death again. lol. still evil. now that i watch the fanmade MV's, though, i want to re-watch both Thor movies and the avengers again and pay more attention to the Loki scenes!!

then for my bday the following year, i discovered i share my birthday with tom and i thought that was so freaking cool. i remember looking for a pic of him to announce on twitter i have the same bday as "loki" and i used a pic of him from that epic event. AND I STILL DID NOT BOTHER TO WATCH THE VIDEO. OY. I AM AN IDIOT. here is the video by the way. omg. it was perfect. HE is perfect. and his voice always does things to me. i swear, i think his voice is one of the main reasons i fell for him!

this is kind of related but i started to like jeremy irvine in a kind of casual way cuz he is gonna be in the movie adaptation of Fallen (which is coming out in god knows when. keeps getting delayed). he is british. he was also in a ghost movie that i couldn't watch cuz i hate horror movies, though i want to watch tom's ghost movie, crimson peak, (but actually more of a gothic romance) no matter what. so, i started watching some of his older movies. he's ok. cute, but not the best actor. his breakout role was in War Horse. turns out tom was in this with benedict cumberbatch, too. knowing he's in this movie made me want to watch it more but it's such a depressing movie and so i still haven't watched. lol.

i forgot her username, but someone who is a toma fan, who i follow on twitter is his fan but i just never noticed and i think she usually only tweets about him around his birthday. YES, THERE WERE COUNTLESS TIMES AND REASONS FOR ME TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT TOM AND BECOME HIS FAN EARLIER, BUT SOMEHOW IT JUST NEVER HAPPENED. until 9 days ago. but wait, i haven't gotten there yet.

so, thanks to it being october and the month where all things spooky happen because it's halloween time...i started seeing some CRIMSON PEAK trailers show up on twitter. and the toma fan i followed was retweeting about him, i think. i also read some news about the movie at ohnotheydidnt. this was all early on in the month. well, like i said i don't like horror movies. but tom was looking so handsome and dashing while doing promo stuff for this movie!!


and the trailer was great. AND OMG. there was a sex scene in the trailer. people were saying he shows his butt in this movie?! but for a good reason, cuz he feels like actresses always have to get naked in movies and so why not, he'll do it to to help make things more balanced. awww!! this flawless feminist. now, honestly i have only ever thought of him as being Loki like and it was kind of hard to wrap my head around him being sexy/seductive. i was starting to get the feeling...that i might like him too much very soon, and i was a bit worried about that but it was already too late, you know? lol.


the best i could do was delay the inevitable. i was very interested in crimson peak and finding out more about him but i kinda of just focused more on reading about the movie rather than him. but i did want to see him in romantic mode, so that's when i found that amazing Young and Beautiful fanmade MV that i shared above with clips of him from a lot of different movies where he basically is THE BEST BOYFRIEND (and actor) EVER. so emotional, genuine, loving. you just see it in his eyes, his smile. just...wow.

it wasn't until weeks later, on october 21, that i read about him at ohnotheydidnt again, he did something funny/weird while promoting the movie. now the thing is, you might not know, but ohnotheydidnt hates MOSTLY all celebs. lol. they have a problem with like 80% of them. so when i noticed how all these people were commenting about how much they love him, i was like wow. he must be a really nice guy. they are usually so critical and even if most people like that celebrity, someone will point out why they hate that person and the offensive things they've done.

i only meant to watch that one video. (this is the video. lmao. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnxdtgOFwZ0) but after i finished, i wanted to watch more and each video made me like him more and before i knew it, i had spent half the day watching his videos, looking at his gifs. it makes up for how crappy this month has been for me. TOTALLY. i am just in awe, he is just TOO amazing!!!

OH MY GOD, HE IS A BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT HUMAN BEING.

i was only gonna talk about how much i love him on twitter but i kept finding more and more videos and articles and gifs, so i figured i NEED to make a whole LJ post about him!! usually when i find a new celebrity that i like, i'm always kind of not sure if i should do research and learn more about them. i'm afraid i'll find out they're a jerk in some way. but the more i find out about tom (or thomas. god, i love his name. xD), the more i like him!!!


the thing is, i don't usually have crushes on celebrities like tom. i've had plenty of crushes on good-looking british guys. i mean, the accent always gets you, right? but tom is a very serious actor, he loves shakespeare, the theater, just very passionate about acting. i can't really relate to all that. except that i know toma also loves those same things. and tom does have some unfortunate hairstyles sometimes and sometimes looks older than he is. he's just very british and he's in all these serious, sad, dark movies. he doesn't always look perfectly handsome, but his face has so much character. and of course, when he is handsome, he's devastatingly handsome.

BUT HE IS JUST SO INCREDIBLY LIKEABLE AND NICE!!! i love how he can be the nicest guy you ever met in real life, with that goofy smile. but then just like that, he can become this very dark, menacing character. he's just such an interesting mix of extremes. nice guy, bad guy. he can do it all. i mean, as loki, he already has some terrifying, disturbing expressions. i don't know how he does it!! nicest guy in the world, or creepiest guy ever. he can be both.


WHY IS HE SO AWESOME? let me make a list!!

HIS VOICE. HIS LAUGH.
HIS DANCING. HIS IMPRESSIONS!
HE IS A BRILLIANT ACTOR.

he likes to play the piano (although he's not good at it. lol.) and loves reading, has books all over his house.

he speaks french, spanish (maybe more, i forgot)!!

he is charming, humble, intelligent, eloquent, such a gentleman (he kissed a fan's hand!!), funny, sexy, kind, genuine, sweet, silly, loves his fans, is a feminist, he uses an ice cream simile to explain why he doesn't mind if his fans are gay or straight, etc. etc. HE RECITES POEMS. AGAIN, HIS VOICE IS JUST... PERFECT. he has classic movie star good looks. he looks his best in period movies but also damn good in the most modern, stylish suit (ESPECIALLY WHEN HE'S DANCING).

he's like an especially charming character from a historical romance book come to life. that's how amazing he is. it's unreal, how awesome he is. or he's like a slightly older teacher that's very passionate about shakespeare, that everyone would have a crush on.

i know british people are just more polite and eloquent, anyway. but tom seems exceptionally nice and has just a way of words!! so thoughtful and sincere, too.

honestly, he has ruined me for other men. he is a life ruiner. lol. no, but i'm really so happy i discovered how amazing he is. it's not like in the past where i fangirled for toma 24/7. but i'm sure going to keep up with tom's news through facebook or twitter and follow him on twitter and retweet the hell out of everything. lol. oh, i'm so excited he's gonna be in Skull Island, the new king kong movie, as the hero!! i'm sad that crimson peak bombed at the box office, but that's more because people don't like gothic romance, not his fault. i'm sure more people will eventually realize how great he is (not just as loki, and not just on tumblr/online in general). but i mean, even if he doesn't have box office hits, it's fine. i think he doesn't care much, as long as he can continue playing challenging characters.
