new crush! godfrey gao from The Mortal Instruments. *_* (and the soundtrack is great, too!!)

they are saying The Mortal Instruments could be the next big supernatural love story movie series!! hmm. not sure about that. i'm not really interested in reading the books (the way it's written, it's kinda corny. lol.) but the movie seems cool!! i already was interested in it after seeing the trailer, but after finding out there's an asian character, i was really intrigued! i looked up more info about the character (magnus bane) and the actor (godfrey gao)...

i have a crush on godfrey gao right now. *__*
he's a model/actor from taiwan, who's just a few weeks older than toma! also born in the fall, but sept.22. =) even though i usually don't like guys with facial hair, it works for him!! xD he reminds me of leehom wang a little, and sometimes of aaron kwok?? (check out my tumblr [tomaroom.tumblr.com] right now to see a bunch of pics/gifs of him! or if you're reading this post late, check the "godfrey gao" and "mortal instruments" tag at my tumblr.) actually, i think he looks cooler in the movie, even though he has all that glitter/eyeshadow/etc. lol. in real life, sometimes he looks a little plain.

it's so cool that he's one of the main supporting characters in the movie that's in theatres this week (aug.21)!! his character, magnus bane, is a really cool and sexy warlock who helps out the shadowhunters sometimes. and he's gay (maybe bi?). that explains all the glitter and eyeshadow, i guess. he even uses nail polish?? lol. but still, magnus is really popular and powerful. he's an important character.

AND THIS IS ONE OF THOSE RARE TIMES THAT AN ASIAN ACTOR IN A HOLLYWOOD MOVIE IS ACTUALLY MORE GOOD-LOOKING THAN THE LEAD (WHITE) ACTOR!! xD i think he's the cutest of all the guys, actually! (of course, usually they don't let the asian guy be more handsome than the white guy. lol. asian girls can look good, though.) and he's not the typical asian guy who knows martial arts, is geeky, or just there for comic relief. his english is pretty good, since he grew up in canada. but you can tell that sometimes, he's not very comfortable speaking in english, since he's been living in taiwan for a long time now. it's expected, but for me, it's still a little disappointing because i thought he would sound like a fluent speaker.

but that's ok, because his english is so much better than other actors from asia that have appeared in hollywood movies (and only learned enough english to say their lines in the movie). i know it's not their fault that their english is bad...but i just hate seeing asian people speaking broken english in american movies or tv shows. oh, you can look up some of his interviews on youtube if you want to hear what he sounds like. i like his cool, deep voice. ~_~

AND THE SOUNDTRACK IS REALLY GREAT!!
well, it's a good mix of ballads and edgy upbeat music...
